After all this time Konami just casually says, "Yeah we're finally doing this in a couple of months, no big."

Hopefully these trophies aren't too extreme though. It's been too long since I was good at an MGS game. I would not look forward to trying to beast the game in 5 hrs without being spotted, killing, or using healing items.

Kojima's always been at the fringe of Japanese and Western gaming. His "arse kissing" is a result of him seeing Western developers taking more innovative approaches to gaming in the last half decade.

They're nice, but not that nice.

Starhawk is the spiritual sequel to Warhawk, which itself was a reboot of Warhawk from the PS1.

And KillZone, while initially and answer to Halo on PS2, predates Gears of War and plays nothing like any Halo game.

AR games existed before 3DS.

Fassbender kind of came out of nowhere to become a great actor.

300
Inglorious Bastards
X-Men: First Class
Prometheus
Shame
And he did a voice in Fable III

All good stuff, so if he's helping to produce this, we might have a glimmer of hope.

Kind of sad since Skyrim is still selling for 60 and both offer similar amounts of gameplay. (Though they do it in very different ways.)

Better game:

Bang, Kill, or Marry Watch Dogs?

Ironic since Max Payne 3 is at least 50% better than LA Noire was.

It's probably very close because they've practiced this section enough to make events occur in a specific way for dramatic effect.

And further, it's possible that all of the AI is not in place in this build of the game. Since they're not finished yet it's not unreasonable to assume they'd leave some half-finished code out so everything would go well for presentation purposes.

Yeah they have, the game is wide-linear.

And story, don't forget it'll have a strong, coherent story as well.

Tough to say what'll happen to Kinect. The ideal situation is something built in the console, but, obviously this complicates the camera.

I also expect MS to snap up this company and it's technology in an acquisition for their next gen Kinect.

Yeah I think the only major dev teams Nintendo hasn't utilized recently are the ones producing Metroid games and Smash Bros. games.

Ergo, it's reasonable to think that those are the titles we should look for first, a true Mario sequel following those, and HD Zelda after that.

Sony probably could launch a new console next year, they have enough 1st party support to put together a great launch and the PS3 isn't selling gangbusters anyways. But I...

Seems like Naughty Dog is gunning for the Developer of the Generation Award that websites will no doubt be handing out next year or the year after.

From isn't a major developer. They don't have the time and money to do a proper port.

You may be right about the piracy, would it would be really sad for From to go to the trouble of porting it and that's what people do.

If piracy is rampant you can be sure From won't port their next game to PC.

I don't know where all this hate for linearity comes from.

Open worlds do two things, provide a sense of freedom, and provide multiple avenues of execution. But once you've become familiar with the map the former wears off.

But if a game is linear, but still manages to provide a variety options for the player, then I don't see any functional difference when it comes to the gameplay.

Ultimately, everything the player does is goin...

Doesn't matter. If it had been a modern warfare style game they'd be suing for that too.

That's the BS about intellectual property law. A company can own the ideas of people who work for them. Then when those people leave the company can sue, saying that those ideas belong to the company.

But how do you prove when someone has been thinking about something? And how do you prove or disprove whether or not those thoughts belong to the individual ...

You're proving my point.

PC games continue to advance because of new technology, but there is a certain kind of diminishing returns to the way PC gaming advances because there is not much time for optimization.

That a PC can outperform a console is nothing new. That most PC games aren't head and shoulders above a game like Uncharted or God of War III, even though the technology is, speaks to the importance of optimization.

Love all the PC trolling. They get so touchy when a game comes out and performs so well on console it makes the value of their thousand dollar machines seem weaker.

Well what else do you expect? When new hardware arrives each year and fragments the market further, and when top tier devs don't have much time to sit and really optimise for the current standard of card before the next one comes it impacts quality.

PC's beast their way to better graphic...

Lack of sales is precisely why Ninja Theory ditched Sony. And Heavenly Sword was actually quite a good game.

Where was all this righteous indignation before?

Who does this guy think he's kidding?
